Our Services
The Dog Lodge is a small, fully socializing dog daycare & boarding facility based in South Lyon, Michigan. We focus on providing a fun, safe environment for your dog while you’re away and pride ourselves in being hands-on & offering constant interaction with our furry guests! From enrichment games to special snacks, we love spending time with your dog and giving them the best day ever!
How We Personalize Your Dog’s Stay
Standard
This section is for young-to-adult, confident dogs who do well in a playgroup of 5-15 dogs. Our staff still play with our furry friends and give them extra pets, love and care but they get the majority of their activity from the other dogs in playgroup with our staff acting more as ‘lifeguards’ or ‘referees’.

Our Standard Playgroups are separated between our two buildings based off their size.
Our Front Building holds up to 25 Small & Extra Small dogs and our Back Building holds up to 25 Medium & Large dogs. Each building splits our groups based off of size & activity level. Our playgroup sizes are smaller than larger daycares, typically between 10-15 dogs at the most.
Our dogs follow a routine, giving them 8 hours of playtime split into 1-3 hour chunks with kennel break time in between, giving our staff time to clean and our guests time to rest & decompress.
Guests spend their day playing with friends, working on appropriate socialization skills, playing with heavy-duty toys, practicing proper manners with our staff, and getting lots of pets & cuddles from staff!
If you want your dog’s day to be extra special, sign them up for “Bestie Bonding” or a “Smart Snack”- these add ons will let your pup run through our pasture, play a fun enrichment game, or get an extra special treat!

Specialized
This section is for dogs with higher medical needs, elderly dogs or dogs who are nervous or unconfident in new situations. Dogs in this section are still expected to be able to socialize with 1-3 other dogs with calmer or similar dispositions, but they get more of their activity & stimulation from enrichment games and interactions with staff.

Our Specialized area is split between 2-3 quiet areas and can accommodate up to 6-7 dogs per day in our Front Building.
We move dogs into our Specialized section on a case-by-case basis. Some dogs don’t do well with the activity of a full-playgroup of 10 dogs due to issues with confidence, or being overwhelmed. Some dogs have medical limitations or are elderly and wouldn’t do well romping around with active, high energy young dogs. Regardless, we are happy to accommodate!

Specialized dogs get a more personalized schedule- if they seem like they need more rest time we are happy to accommodate. If they need more time out and about, we do that too!
Our Specialized Guests are catered to as individually as possible. Dogs with arthritis or mobility issues are given extra mats & padding. Dogs lacking in confidence work on building socialization skills and may graduate to Standard playgroup.
