Training

Is your dog slipping on their manners? Pulling on the leash more? Ignoring your recall?

Then it’s time for a training tune up!

Our trainer, Paige, has had 8 professional years of working with both dogs and dog trainers. They utilize fear free positive reinforcement training methods to help build up your dog’s manners & obedience the right way! Utilizing these methods gives your dog structure, confidence, and is a great way to stimulate their mind.

Further than that, every dog professional knows that training a dog is partially teaching the humans handling the dogs. Paige works to create an understanding between the human handler & canine companion.

  • When I first brought Bubba home, he was a bundle of energy—an exuberant, floppy-eared Boxer who seemed to bounce off the walls. Playful and affectionate, he was everything I could have hoped for in a companion. However, as much as I adored him, my lack of experience in dog training left me feeling overwhelmed. Bubba's enthusiasm often translated into chaos, with endless barking, jumping, and a few questionable choices in the backyard.

After several weeks of trying (and failing) to teach Bubba basic commands, I decided it was time to seek professional help. That’s when Emily (The Dog Lodge Manager) told me about Paige, who works at the Dog Lodge. I could tell they are passionate and knowledgeable about their craft. They assured me that they’d worked with countless energetic dogs like Bubba and that they could help him channel that wild spirit into something more manageable.

Paige took the time to understand his personality—his strengths, his quirks, and, most importantly, his boundless energy. What struck me most about Paige was their ability to make learning fun. They didn't just teach commands; They created an environment where Bubba could thrive. Each session was filled with agility drills, playful exercises, and plenty of positive reinforcement. I watched, amazed, as Bubba began to respond to her cues. He learned to sit, stay, and even wait patiently for the gate door to open. I saw him stare into their eyes for the command that followed. With each command mastered, the connection between them deepened, and I saw a side of Bubba I hadn’t appreciated before—his focus and willingness to learn.

Paige also empowered me with strategies to continue Bubba's training at home. They provided valuable insights on managing his excitement levels and suggested engaging activities to keep his mind stimulated, ensuring our time together was both productive and enjoyable. As the weeks went by, Bubba blossomed. I can’t thank them enough. Bubba has not only learned commands; he has become a more balanced and well-mannered dog. His playful spirit is still alive and well, but now it’s paired with obedience and a sense of calm. Every little victory we achieved together, from mastering “leave it” to nailing the “down” command, wasn’t just a testament to Bubba but also a reflection of Paige’s talent as a trainer.

I feel compelled to share my gratitude and admiration for Paige. If you are looking for someone skilled, patient, and who truly cares about your furry friend, Paige is the one. Not only have they transformed Bubba into a joy to be around, but they’ve also reinforced the bond between us, showing me the incredible rewards that come with proper training.

Thank you, Paige, for helping us become the best versions of ourselves—a bouncy, playful Boxer and his devoted human, transformed through your extraordinary guidance!

  • THANK YOU for the great work you're doing with Lexi! I have seen incredible improvement in the last three months you've been working together. Her ability to ignore distractions is increasing, and she is enthusiastically following instructions!

I was so completely at my wits end trying to get her to be a reasonable dog by myself. It was so frustrating not knowing what to do - I had assumed, having dogs before, that she would just "know" and "learn". Not true. You're teaching me that training has to be deliberate, encouraging, and fun!

I appreciate the tips you share about how to continue practicing at home. I'm honestly shocked by how fast she's learning and improving!
